The Grand Marais Business Council was formed with the mission “to protect, promote and facilitate the vitality of business in Grand Marais”. We believe that responsible business development is the path to a strong economy. We believe that a strong economy is necessary to support excellent schools and hospitals, better paying year-round jobs, beautiful and well-maintained parks, sound city infrastructure, healthy public buildings and better quality of life for all.
The Grand Marais Business Council intends to achieve its mission by:
- Educating ourselves, the public and city officials regarding the critical role business plays in the success of our community.
- Raising awareness with the public and our elected officials on issues of importance to business in Grand Marais.
- Giving voice to all business owners in Grand Marais, including tax-paying non-resident business and property owners.
- Lobbying the public and city government to support the growth necessary to provide year-round jobs in our changing economy.
- Engaging in meaningful dialogue within the Business Council, with our neighbors, with other groups within our community, and with our government officials.
